Email Server - Server

The Server handles the receiving, processing, routing and the delivery of email both locally and  to the Internet. The email server runs as a system service.

Supports Open Internet Standards
The NoticeWare™ Email Server supports the open Internet Standards for the transfer of electronic mail using SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), POP3 (Post Office Protocol) and the IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol).

Multiple POP3 / SMTP and IMAP Servers
The NoticeWare™ Email Server allows for multiple POP3, SMTP and IMAP servers to be run on one machine, each bound to its own IP address.

IMAP Support
IMAP can be used to manipulate email on the mail server, by remote clients. This allows remote users to access their email from many different clients, located in different locations, without the need to download the email. Our IMAP implementation supports the use of public folders for email collaboration.

POP3 Support
POP3 is used by email clients to retrieve their email from the email server.

SMTP Support
SMTP is the industry standard way to send email to the email server and from email server to email server.

Secure Socket Support
TLS/SSL Secure sockets can be configured for all the server types.

Anti-Spam Features
The NoticeWare Email Server provides numerous Anti-Spam features. The server incorporates the highly respected, powerful SpamAssassin(tm) Anti-Spam filtering technology. Email can also be filtered based on sender and character set, and content filtering rules. The SMTP server supports the use of Real-time Blacklists (SpamCop, and others) and the SpamPain(tm) Realtime Antispam Blackhole List. It also can utilize Sender Policy Framework and other methods to stop spam at the source.

Spam Quarantine Folders and Spam Quarantine email digests allow further Spam management options.

Multiple Domain Support
The NoticeWare Email Server supports numerous domain names hosted on the same server. "True", "Virtual" and "Alias" Domains are all supported via routing or configuration options. "Virtual" domains can all be set up for the same IP address, or "True" domains can each have their own IP. "Alias" domains route all email to another domain.

Email Pickup Options
The NoticeWare Email Server includes the ability to pickup email from other servers using POP3 Pickup or SMTP Store and Forward. The POP3 Pickup feature of the NoticeWare Email Server will allow you to retrieve mail from one or more remote POP3 accounts. If your ISP stores your email on their server until you connect, you can use the SMTP Store and Forward features to retrieve your email.

You can also import RFC822 email directly from a folder located on your computer. This email will then be routed to the correct recipient using the To: and CC: header lines.
